About Shan

A local engineer who'd rather build the thing than sell you a strategy deck.

I'm Shan, a software engineer in Invercargill. I don't run an agency or sell AI hype. I build simple websites for wee local businesses, and I sit down with bigger ones to put AI to work — then explain it plainly and leave you able to run it.

You'll hear back directly from me within one business day.

Most wee businesses need one plain thing before anything clever: to be findable online. So the front door is a simple website — one good page, hosted and kept running for NZD 10 a month, built over a coffee. It is deliberately for small Invercargill outfits under five people; onboarding really is just a flat white and a chat.

Everyone is also talking about AI right now, and most of it is noise. The useful question is much smaller: what is one thing in your week that AI or a bit of software could actually take off your hands? That is what a day with me is built to answer — and the strongest fit is owners, accountants, advisors, and admin-heavy SMEs across Southland who need one painful process handled properly, not a grand digital transformation.

Being based in Invercargill matters. It keeps the work grounded in how Southland businesses actually buy: trust first, clarity over jargon, and results that feel proportionate to the cost. Websites start at NZD 10 a month; a day of AI work is NZD 500 and a week is NZD 1,500, and you only ever book more if the first one earns it.

How a day works

Side by side, building the real thing

The process is simple on purpose: pick the target, work together, ship something that runs, and leave you able to keep it going.

01

Pick the target

A short call before we start. You tell me what feels slow, repetitive, or messy, and we agree on the one thing most worth fixing.

02

Sit down together

We work side by side — in person around Invercargill and Southland, or over a screen share anywhere. You see exactly how it gets built.

03

Build the real thing

No demos or decks. By the end of the day we have something working on your actual data, doing your actual task.

04

You keep it

It is yours, with plain-language notes so your team can run it. If a day was not enough, we roll straight into more time.

How I handle your data

Practical AI without giving up control of your information

For anyone handling client records, financial data, or internal operations, doing this responsibly is part of the job, not an afterthought.

  • Your tools and accounts only. No surprise software in the stack.
  • Access is kept to the minimum needed to get the work done.
  • Your data is not used to train AI models unless you explicitly agree in writing.
  • You leave the day with a clear handover and a named person — me — to ask.

If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you

The first email exists to figure out whether a day together makes sense — not to talk you into a project you don't need.
