Part 1: Foundations of Switchboard Drafting

Part 1 covers steps 1 and 2 of the learning plan: first understand the input/output interface, then work through a simple case end to end.

It establishes the standard interface used across every drafting project, then walks through a complete worked example that follows that interface from Design Intent to a full manufacturing package.

  1. Input & Output Specification — Defines the standard set of documents received from the client (inputs) and the drawing package delivered back (outputs).
  2. Case Study: A Small Retail Shop — Applies the specification to a single small commercial switchboard, from Design Intent to a full manufacturing package.

How to Read This Part​

The first article defines the interface. The second article is a complete case that strictly follows that interface. Later parts reuse the same template to scale up to larger commercial, MCC, control, and PLC switchboards.
